Early January 1999 I launched a web site for The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" on the Internet. Bearing in mind that most things and people that have some form of direct contact with The Capri end up having bad luck or strange occurrences happen to them I was absolutely horrified when immediately after opening the web site our famous local beauty spot Beachy Head had the worst cliff fall in its history, a week later six bombs were washed ashore at the base of the cliffs and the week after that the light of the famous Beachy Head Lighthouse stopped working and required emergency repairs. Then only six weeks passed until a security guard who was on duty at the Belle Tout Lighthouse was found dead in his van. The old lighthouse was being moved back from the cliff edge at the time so disturbing the peace and tranquillity of the area. When you remember the address of The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" web site was beachyhead.freeserve.co.uk the whole episode takes on a more sinister touch. The vehicle is releasing its dark power yet again.

          Shortly after the Beachy Head experiences imagine my surprise when a researcher studying the Occult and Supernatural showed me a photo and text to prove that it was at exactly the same place as the large rock fall occurred in 1999 that in 1894 the infamous Alistair Crowley, black magician, whose biography was entitled The Great Beast, and who took the numbers "666" to signify The Devil and evil had actually climbed the cliff and sat upon a pinnacle which jutted out about twenty yards from the top of the cliff face. This is a very strange coincidence considering the cliff fall occurred just after the Beachy Head web site was opened featuring The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" and Crowley actually climbed at this very spot over one hundred years ago. Add to this the fact that the Venetian name for Beachy Head was Caput Doble, which translates as the Devil's Headland and a connection between the car and Crowley starts to appear.

          Also John, a friend of mine, was viewing The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" web site when his connection to the Internet broke, he re-established a connection and surfed the web. When he again started viewing this web site his computer went berserk, it deleted some of his important files and then disconnected from the Internet and he could not re-establish until the following day. I have since had numerous people contact me with accounts of strange things that have occurred to them or their computers as soon as they logged on to The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" web site.

          On 10th January 1999 my partner was on her own in my house reading a book. She suddenly felt very uneasy and had the feeling someone was watching her. She continued reading but stopped abruptly when she heard somebody unleash a long sigh. Immediately she checked the room and then the rest of the house to see if anybody was there, but she was alone. Who is this strange person that keeps appearing on the upstairs landing and is now making noises to attract attention.

          During February 1999 I experienced some very strange occurrences with watches and clocks in the house. Firstly my own wrist watch stopped completely and I had to have the battery changed, I agree that the battery needs renewing on all watches of this type but in the past this watch has lost time gradually when the battery is failing and to add to the mystery the battery had only been changed five weeks previously. Next my partner found that her watch stopped regularly and no explanation was ever discovered. One morning I found the kitchen clock had stopped at precisely three o’clock and even after changing the battery it refused to work correctly. Then my bedside wind up alarm clock stopped on three consecutive nights at three o’clock. I started to use a battery alarm clock and it also stopped the next night at quarter to three. Again no explanations were found.

I was working late upstairs in my office in the early hours of 30th March 1999 when suddenly from the corner of my vision I became aware of what I thought was a figure on the landing about ten feet away. I looked up quickly and I am sure I witnessed a dark shadow disappear and obviously I immediately checked the whole house but no one was about. Being a little shaken by this experience I then made myself a cup of tea in the kitchen and returned with it to the office to continue my work. All went well until at 2.53am I suddenly heard the noise of an electric motor coming from downstairs. My first thought was that the central heating had turned itself on because the temperature had dropped but I then realised I did not have the heating switched on. I cautiously went downstairs to the kitchen where the noise was coming from and as I entered I found the extractor fan and light above the gas hob had been activated and they were both fully on. Only an hour previous I had been in the kitchen making my tea and the extractor vent was definitely off and it can only be switched on by lifting the vent cover upwards. How did the cover lift up on its own and why should it again occur around 3am in the morning.

          From early April until 16th July 1999 all was quiet with only the sightings of figures on the landing at home to report. During this period the Capri was parked in a single lock up garage and not driven at all but only started once a week to keep the battery in good condition and the engine free. On 16th July, for a change, I drove the vehicle up and down in front of the block of garages it had been parked in, at one point the car stopped abruptly outside one of the garages and would not restart. I checked various engine items but it made no difference so I left it for a while. When I returned after ten minutes the car started on about the third attempt but would not go into gear, it was as if the vehicle wanted to stay in the same place, eventually I managed to put it into second gear and I drove it back into my garage. Later that day the rear brake on my everyday car seized as I was travelling along and I had to acquire the assistance of my mechanic to investigate the problem. He could find no apparent reason for the occurrence and we put it down to one of those things that happen. However when I went to the garage next time to start the Capri I found that one of the garage doors had been damaged by fire. Coincidence or not it was the very one that the Capri had stopped outside and a neighbour confirmed it happened later on the same day I had experienced the problem!! It seems very strange that the very day the Capri is used after being parked in a garage for three months is the same day that unexplained things start occurring again.

          On 25th November 1999 a full search of Beachy Head cliffs was under taken by all the emergency services when members of the public reported seeing a mauve / purple car half way down the cliff face. After hours of looking for the vehicle nothing was found and no explanation has been offered for this experience.

          On 3rd December 1999 I was sitting downstairs having a conversation with my partner when we both heard a loud thumping noise from above us. It was immediately followed by loud footsteps which seemed to come from the front bedroom. We both went upstairs and searched the rooms but found nobody then suddenly both of us smelt the distinct smell of tobacco smoke. We looked about in amazement but could not find the source of the smell and also all the windows were shut. To check nobody was smoking in the garden we both ventured outside but there was no trace of the tobacco smell out there. We both heard the footsteps and both smelt the tobacco burning but no explanation was forthcoming.

          In mid December 1999 a television researcher rang me and arranged for me to film for a forthcoming programme. We joked that she must now be on her guard as the strange curse of The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" will now be after her. Three days later she again got in touch with me and explained that since our last conversation she had been in a car accident and her vehicle had received substantial damage and might well be written off. I was due to film the programme on 13th January 2000 but on the day before I felt ill and I was made to stay in bed for the following week with a mysterious stomach complaint. The filming was rescheduled for later in the year.

          Even into the new millennium the weird coincidences occur!!!!!!!
          In early January 2000 I parked The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" next to another Capri on a car forecourt. The other Capri had been driving well up to that point but the following day strange noises came from the transmission. When the gearbox was removed the mechanic found it full to the brim with water and no oil at all. However the oil seals between the engine, clutch and gearbox were in excellent condition and the radiator was full with no water loss at all. Nobody can explain this weird occurrence.

          On Friday 14th January 2000 The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" story was featured in a Southern England newspaper and they gave the beachyhead.freeserve.co.uk address. That very night the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Team were called to Beachy Head to deal with a strange object which had been found on the shore under the cliffs. In June 2000 I was filmed by a national television company for a major network programme, the filming took six hours but when the result was viewed at their studios the next day there was a very weird noise on the tape, rather like a person mumbling. The cameraman and sound crew could offer no explanation and were mystified. On Friday 4th August 2000 I was interviewed over the phone by a national Sunday newspaper. I explained the weird things that happen with the car and to people who come into contact with it. I jokingly told the researcher to be careful and at that very point the fire alarm in her building sounded and the interview had to be terminated. On 7th August 2000 my partner was upstairs decorating and the car was parked outside. From downstairs a voice shouted "hello", thinking I had returned my partner proceeded to the kitchen whilst talking about the paint job upstairs. Imagine the shock felt when it became apparent that nobody else was in the building. Only two days later we heard a strange sound downstairs and when we investigated we found that one of the light bulbs from the light fitting in the lounge had come unscrewed from the fitment and fallen to the carpet below. This is very weird as the bulbs face upwards in their fitments and would need to travel approximately two inches straight up to clear the side of the light cluster!!

          During September 2000 my partner and I parted company and hence on Sunday 29th October 2000 I was working late working late in my new premises whilst a very severe gale was in progress outside. I suddenly felt uneasy and on looking up I saw the rear view of the shoulders and head of a figure disappear straight through the lounge door that is made of solid wood. Approximately ten minutes later I looked up at the door and saw the shoulders and face of a woman staring straight at me. Within half a second the figure had disappeared but for the first time since witnessing all the strange occurrences I actually felt uneasy afterwards and I had the feeling that the figure was unfriendly!! On refection later I could not work out a connection between my new premises and The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" until I suddenly realised that only two days earlier I had tried to start the car and finding the battery had no charge I had removed it and taken it to my new premises for charging. The battery was in the hallway about three feet from the lounge door!!!! What a weird coincidence!!! It was after this sighting that I seriously considered destroying the car to finish once and for all the strange happenings. But I really saw that face staring at me and I now have even more interest in the weird occurrences and want to learn the real truth behind it all.

          On 16th November 2000 the car was towed on a trailer to a film location in the Sussex countryside for filming the next day and overnight it was parked next to the Range Rover that was used for the towing. That evening the owner of the land was sitting talking about The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" to his visitors in his house situated next to the car when the outside spotlights suddenly went on and off very quickly. On inspection later it was discovered that all the bulbs had blown. Also the Range Rover failed to start the next morning and it was not until The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" had been towed back to its usual garage by another vehicle two days later that the Range Rover could be started and used again. During the actual filming Reverend Lionel Fanthorpe, the famous Television presenter, was blessing the car with Holy Water and realised that how ever much of the Holy Water he used the level in his container remained the same. The only conclusion he could reach was that the forces of good were reproducing to fight the evil force that was in and around the car. During the week after the filming the owner of the property which was used had a complete failure of his heating system that cost hundreds of pounds to repair, a member of his family had to be taken to hospital with a mystery illness and he had an extremely painful skin complaint develop on his neck which required medical attention. Also I had more weird unexplained things happen at my premises, during the middle of the night my doorbell started ringing and nobody was in sight. I removed the batteries but the ringing continued so eventually I unscrewed the actual bell from the fitting so the plunger had nothing to hit, after ten minutes the plunger stopped moving. Twice now I have heard a kitchen cupboard door banging shut during the night and when I have reached the kitchen the same door has been open wide and on one occasion it was still moving!!!

          During 2001 I stored the car at a remote location as I was worried that the coincidences and strange occurrences were becoming too frightening and too weird. One such strange coincidence happened on 6th April 2002. I bet on two horses in the Grand National, the first was Red Ark, which needless to say fell at the first fence. The second horse was The Last fling, which sadly following a very heavy fall had to be put to sleep after the race. I agree anyone could have bet on these two horses and these things happen but when you look at the whole story regarding the car is it just a coincidence that I have bad luck yet again or is there more to it?

           In June 2002 my friend Paul and I went to the car to start it and we took a spare battery with us. As I fitted the battery under the bonnet Paul sat in the car ready to turn the ignition. Suddenly the battery connections sparked as the engine tried to turn over, I jumped back and shouted to Paul that I was not ready and at exactly the same time I saw Paul launching himself from the driver’s seat in a panic and shouting unprintable remarks. I sensed movement from the passenger side of the vehicle and looking quickly across I am certain I observed a cloaked figure walking straight through the thick bramble bush next to the car. Turning to Paul I asked him somewhat excitedly if he saw the figure and in no uncertain terms he told me that his quick exit from the car was because as the engine started to turn without him touching the ignition key he had smelt perfume and looking behind him he was sure he had seen a figure in the back seat. I approached the car and I can confirm that there was a perfume type smell in the vehicle. We immediately ran round the other side of the brambles but there was nothing in sight. We then made a hasty retreat from the scene.

            In November 2002 The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" was filmed on my friend's land in the country by the motoring programme 5th Gear. The day before whilst preparing for the film shoot my friend and I were positioning the car in a field when it got stuck firm in deep mud. Nothing strange with that but when my friend went to collect his Land Rover to pull the car free his vehicle would not start. He has owned it for many years and it has always been one hundred per cent reliable and always started first time. We finally pulled The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" free with his Range Rover and it was not until the next day that the Land Rover finally started and could be used again. But the day after the filming my friend went out to his Range Rover early in the morning and found the headlights were on. Thinking he had left them switched on he opened the door to flick the light switch off and was surprised to find that the switch was already in the off position!! He then removed the headlight relay and they still stayed on. In desperation he disconnected the battery and made a telephone call to his mechanic who was as confused over the incident as my friend. A while later the battery was connected again and the headlights no longer illuminated and the light switch worked fine. It was as if the Range Rover was being punished for towing The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" the day before!! To add to the coincidences a couple of hours later my friend's wife returned home saying her car, a Mercedes which had been parked close to The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" the day before, had developed an over heating fault which was diagnosed as a blown head gasket. Yet again three more cases where mechanically sound vehicles have come into close contact with The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" and straightaway coincidentally they have all had mechanical faults of one type or another.

            On January 3rd 2004 I spent the day browsing through all the articles I have on this strange and weird story and decided I should look more deeply into the background of the occurrences. In the evening I watched television as normal but at 10.15pm I suddenly felt uneasy and restless. I actually walked round the house checking the doors and windows were secure and all was well. Sitting back down in front of the television there was suddenly a loud bang from the bathroom and I immediately went to investigate. I found a new unopened shower gel on the floor having fallen from the shelf it had stood on for the past six months. Fair enough I suppose it could happen to fall that very evening after I had spent the day looking at The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" material. But then again it had been on the shelf without any problems for six months. However the container was a comical one in the shape of "A Skeleton Head"!!!!!!

           On January 14th 2004 at 3.30am I awoke to hear strange humming noises coming from my lounge and on investigating I entered the room and saw a hooded figure facing sideways to me staring at a picture of The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" which I have hanging on the wall. I realised immediately that this was a ghost or paranormal type figure and as I pondered what to do it turned its head towards me and the face was that of a man about sixty and then the figure just disappeared as if it had never been there. 

            On January 15th 2004 I updated this web site. When I started the weather was very calm and sunny however within ten minutes of opening The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" file on my computer the weather changed to a howling gale with the wind battering against the windows and the garden furniture being blown around the garden. The storm seemed to be above the very house I was working in which was very strange and rather scary.

            During February 2004 owing to two very serious and sad incidents which I will not give details about on this web site I decided it was best to move The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" to a new location. The car was moved and parked on a friend's driveway deep in the Sussex countryside. The very next day a very important property / land sale that my friend was involved in suddenly came to a halt as for no apparent reason the buyer changed his mind and the day after that another property sale my friend was involved in also collapsed meaning his advanced plans to emigrate in six weeks were ruined and he is now destined to another two years in this country. On hearing about The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" being parked on their driveway his wife became distraught and blamed the car for their sudden bad luck and demanded it was immediately moved away. I had no alternative than to quickly find yet another home for the vehicle but the weird story continues as we used my friend's Land Rover as a towing vehicle and as has happened in the past the next day the Land Rover refused to go and an engineer was called out. He could find no reason why the vehicle would not start. It was not until two days later that the Land Rover started and drove again, coincidentally it had always been a first class starter and given no problems at all just like the other vehicles that had suddenly stopped working after towing The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y".

            On March 4th 2004 I updated this web site yet again. As soon as I had finished the task I checked the time on my watch only to find that it had stopped working for approximately half an hour, which was the time I had been updating the site!! It finally started working again about three hours later and before you ask, yes the battery was very good and I did not need to change it or do anything to the watch to get it to go again. More and more of these weird things are beginning to occur now and are starting to become more than just coincidences.

During 2004 the Capri was stored and not used but many strange occurrences happened at my house, including doors still opening on their own, items falling off shelves when nobody in the room and more sightings of a figure on the landing.

            On January 12th 2005 I decided to look at all the information I had collected on The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" so I spent a few hours browsing over the newspapers etc and viewing the videos I have of the television programmes that have covered the weird story. As I was reading a particular book that features the Capri I sensed movement from the corner of the room where I have “Boris” a three foot high skeleton that I purchased as a joke to place in my house to amuse my friends. On looking up and turning fully towards the corner I have to admit that I saw nothing unusual and did not sense anyone there anymore. However at five o’clock the next morning I was woken up by a couple of thumping noises that seemed to echo around the house. I immediately thought there were intruders in the place and went to investigate. After a few minutes I found that the cause of the disturbance was the old top hat that had been securely on the head of Boris for over six months had somehow fallen off and was now lying on the floor behind him. This is even more remarkable when you realise that the hat is grossly over size for Boris and sits way down over his scull so to fall off it would have to go upwards by about six inches first!!

            In March 2005 two separate incidences happened, firstly I had an evening out with a friend who is coincidentally called Christine, the name of the supernatural car in the famous film of the same name. During the evening we spoke of  The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" and as always I advised caution in joking too much about the Capri and registration as other people had laughed at the story and they had weird things happen to them soon afterwards. We finished our evening together and Christine drove off in her car that she had explained was very reliable and never gave any problems. The next day I was contacted by a rather bemused Christine who was sitting by the side of the road waiting for a repairman to arrive to fix her broken down car!! It had just cut out completely and glided to a halt with no warning at all. The mechanic arrived explaining that he would purchase the parts needed the next day and then repair the vehicle. But alas the story does not finish there as the next day Christine was contacted to be told that the mechanic had been taken ill and would be in touch soon. After four days she was forced to find another mechanic, as the original man was still bedridden. Could this be The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" having revenge on my friend Christine for laughing at the story or yet again just another coincidence?

            Secondly in March 2005 I visited a friend who lives in the country and he remarked that he had seen me on television the previous week with the Capri. He also started laughing at the amazing things that have occurred and yet again I advised caution in joking too much about the Capri and registration as other people had laughed at the story and they had weird things happen to them soon afterwards. I have to say that when he telephoned me the next day I was not too surprised to hear that his reliable 4x4 all terrain vehicle would not start. But I was surprised when three days later he again contacted me and explained that his exhaust had fallen off, this has happened in the past to a car that came into close contact with The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y", and he had been having severe headaches since the day we met. He has recently contacted me to add that he logged onto this web site and immediately his computer seized solid and since then it has gone wrong on a daily basis. Also whilst recording a track for me in his recording studio he started getting background murmuring noises on a device called the Phantom Circuit on his music mixing equipment and subsequently the complete mixing board has been returned to the manufacturer to be investigated.

            Because I was becoming increasingly more concerned about the weird unexplained activities surrounding The Haunted Capri "ARK 666Y" I decided during the rest of 2005 to garage the car and not use it everyday but many strange occurrences happened again at my house, including doors still opening on their own, items falling off shelves when nobody in the room and more sightings of strange figures.

Can it all be coincidence!!
